The church Madonna di Montecastello in Tignale is one of the biggest pilgrimage churches of Lake Garda.  It is dedicated to the "Madonna della Stella" which is situated on a prominent spot above Lake Garda, from where you can enjoy a splendid view.

The church is marked by two impressive outside staircases and on the inside by frescoes of the school of Giotto.

A curiosity is Italy's biggest votive offering inside the church: it was given by the community of  Tignale on the occasion of the liberation from the terrible bandit "Zan Zanù" at the beginning of the 17th century.
