Lake Garda: Things to Do When It Rains

Description

A holiday on Lake Garda is always beautiful, enjoyabe, exciting and also … weather-proof! Even if it rains…
There are various chances for visitors to keep themselves entertained in case of rain and it is easy to find alternatives to the numerous outdoor activities that this region has to offer.

Sport enthusiasts can meet climbing challenges in Arco’s Climbing Stadium and participate in go-kart races on the new indoor track in Affi.
Those who feel the need to dive into the water will appreciate the atmosphere of a tropical beach in the Village Beach Club in Bussolengo.

For those who love to combine exercise and shopping, the “La Grande Mela” shopping centre in Sona is just the right thing. There is a bowling alley with 20 lanes, a billiard and video arcade, as well as 120 shops with important Italian and international brands, multiplex 3D cinema and numerous convenience restaurants with various delicacies!
Another shopping centre is “Il Leone” in Lonato, just outside of Desenzano del Garda, where you will find 120 shops, restaurants and convenience restaurants of every type, a petrol station with very low prices and a free shuttle bus that connects some of the towns on the Southern shore of Lake Garda with the shopping centre.
In Affi, close to the tollbooth, the renovated Grand’Affi Shopping Center offers a roofed walk along shops, supermarkets and restaurants, among them a sushi train and a Bavarian restaurant.

Culture, art and history can be experienced during a visit to one of the region’s museums.  Among these are the Nicolis museum in Villafranca di Verona, the “Torre Apponale” tower in Riva del Garda, the tower of San Martino della Battaglia with the adjacent museum of Solferino, the “Museo dell’Alto Garda” (MAG) in Riva del Garda, and, a few kilometres away, the exciting MART (Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art of Rovereto and Trento) in Rovereto.

Visitors can deepen their knowledge of wine, cuisine and regional traditions in the various oil and wine museums in the area. In the Museo dell’Olio d’Oliva (Olive Oil Museum) in Cisano di Bardolino, there are old machines and tools, while in Bardolino in the Museo del Vino (Wine Museum) visitors can learn more about the single steps of wine production, from winegrowing to vintage, from grape processing to bottling.

During a family holiday, children can enjoy the rainy days by diving into the submarine world in the beautiful Gardaland SeaLife aquarium. Lake and sea fish, sharks, turtles and workshops with fun activities contribute to a great day for the entire family.

And if there’s still time, the Flover Garden Center in Bussolengo is certainly worth a visit. To call it simply a garden centre, is an understatement! Flover adapts to the seasons and takes its visitors in a fantastic world full of love for the green, flowers and nature. In Flover’s themed villages, visitors can find decoration, accessories and unusual objects for house and garden.

If you think about it, a rainy day on Lake Garda isn’t that bad
