Palio del Chiaretto is a food and wine festival that takes place in Bardolino, on the Verona coast of Lake Garda. The event is free, organized by the Bardolino Top Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality.

The review takes place every year between the end of May and the beginning of June and focuses on Bardolino Chiaretto DOC wine, a rosé version of the famous Bardolino wine, obtained from the same grape. During the Palio days, you can enjoy a nice walk on the lakeshore, which for the occasion is decorated in pink in honour of the Chiaretto wine.
The event is suggestive and the atmosphere is ideal for spending time outdoors, alone or in the company of friends and family. 

Along Riva Cornicello you will find the stands of numerous wineries of the area, ready to let you taste their best wines, to be accompanied by typical local dishes. 
You can try Chiaretto as aperitif or as accompaniment for appetizers, pasta and fish dishes. Its taste is fresh, dry and tasty, enriched by the scent of wild berries.

Over the years, this festival has been enriched with numerous initiatives and today it attracts thousands of tourists from all over Europe attracted also by the opportunity to shop for oil, local handicrafts, flowers and artistic artefacts in the lakeside stalls. 

There are also the stands of the two most important local museums: the wine Museum of Bardolino and the Oil Museum of Cisano. This is the right opportunity to have a guided tasting of their products, which you can also buy to make nice gifts.

During the event, there are sports events, conferences, guided tours and live music, which reach to embrace and involve also the fractions of Cisano and Calmasino.

During the last day is held the investiture of the ambassadors of Bardolino wine, Classico DOC, which decrees the best wines of the current production: an exciting moment for all participants.
If you are in the area, you should not miss the closing of the Palio, because it is customary to end the event with a wonderful fireworks show on the Lake, late in the evening.
